Darkulture relaunch v.2

by Harkon, Wednesday 31 October 2007

Well it finally happened. I decided to relaunch Darkulture after some time in the wilderness. Some people kept nagging me about it (mentioning no names) and yes they had an influence but that burning fire within was rekindled, it had not died, it was merely sleeping. It wasn't that I grew fed up with the website, far from it. Before Darkulture there was Harkonsworld and the thing simply grew and grew. It grew so big at one point that I seemed to be endlessly doing webwork. Not just that, it was actually becoming unmanagemeble and it wasn't even clear to me which direction I wanted to take it in. Other things happened as well and the focus just slipped so I ended up leaving it for a while.

Leaving it for some time was actually a good thing. I needed to do other things and especially with starting my masters which has taken up the majority of time. Therefore, I wanted to approach Darkulture afresh and I have some new ideas for it which I won't go into, you'll just have to wait and see. There will definitely be more articles, I can promise you that. I'll be writing many myself and cornering other people to write them. You may be next! seriously though, if you're interested in writing an article I'd be happy to read it and I'll put it on the site if I think it's appropriate. Just drop it off to me at the e-mail on the front page. I'm keen to push the original articles as I know this will be a good thing. If you were familiar with the old site then I'll be chopping out some of the content. Music is still a big passion of mine but I've decided not to do band interviews anymore. Gig reviews yes, album reviews yes, but I won't be doing band interviews. Reason being, I want to concentrate more on articles as I believe this is where my best creativity lies. Besides, there are already loads of website out there which do interviews already.

Watch out for some events which will be announced at a later stage. I'm deliberately being evasive about this but at the right space and time people will convene. Be assured!

Darkulture's a bit like the Death Star at the moment, potentially more powerful but still a lot of work to do. I draw the analogy to a close there as I don't want it to blow up at the end. Anyway, that's all for now. Enjoy the site and look out for the new content which will be added very soon
